You're not alone. I'm finding the new forum difficult to navigate, and simply frustrating to use.
Thoughts so far:
- The monitor I'm using has a large screen size. It's very annoying that all replies are to the far left of the screen, as opposed to being in the centre. I have to shift my chair, keyboard and mouse over to the left of my desk, just so that I have a comfortable viewing experience.
- I want an option to hide the side bar, the one with 'related posts' and 'recent discussions'. I don't care what posts other people have been interacting with, and I don't want to know. I'm only interested in the content that I have clicked on, and that's all I want to view.
- The lack of a dark mode, low-contrast modes, or just more options for those of us with visual issues, impairments, or concerns for overall eye health is disappointing. The forums should have been accessible from the start, yet they're not.
- I'm sick and tired of the 'show more' button already. Can we please get an infinite scroll option too?
- I've been redirected to random posts, completely unrelated to what I was actually interested in viewing. I'm not sure how they managed to mess that one up so badly. I'm also aware that they're working on a fix for it.
- Why do I have to sort by 'newest' every single time I view a post? Can we not select the preferences that we want, and have it default to that?
- Replies are just a mess, and can be hard to follow. I'd much prefer to go back to the original format, where the post being replied to was in a quotation box above the reply. That way, we could read the original comment, and the reply in one single post.
