Skipped ranks
My forum rank recently went from Seasoned hotshot to Seasoned veteran without the intermediate ranks of New veteran and Rising veteran. I assume that’s not intentional because I see some accounts with those ranks that I apparently skipped in my progression.

The ranking logic is a bit complicated and intentionally obfuscated to deter bad actors from figuring out what exact steps to take to rank up.
Main thing is that we combine a point system that rewards typical forum actions with a gating system that requires certain minimal criteria to be met.
What you describe indicates that you had earned enough points to jump up a few ranks but were missing one of the minimal criterial (which aren't as granular and may have a few neighboring ranks share the same ones).
