The new Sims forum isn't very easy to understand

I've seen a few posts about this, and I will try to give some feedback to what's bothering me with this new forum. It don't feel like a forum to be honest,The posts are all over the place, and I find it very confusing to find the posts I have previous seen, answered, or just the newest ones. I had to scroll in a post I had received answers in all the way back before I even found my answer in that post, and then the reply I got for it, which is just a hassle. I hope I don't sound to negative, but I really enjoyed how the old sims forum was, and I hope things will keep getting added here to make it more user friendly

  • I have given up on following conversations. I only ever read what's displayed as last posts if I filter by Newest, which is annoying in itself because sometimes there is nothing new there and I opened the thread for nothing. I tried before finding the unread posts and even on a somewhat short thread of about 30 posts I couldn't find the new ones, which made me think that maybe there's a bug with the amount of posts being listed as unread.  It makes you wonder how they are able to moderate the forums this way and if all our complaints are actually being read.

I want to hope it will keep getting better, after all I really enjoyed the old forum, and wish to talk and follow peoples stories like I used to.

So true. I just answered in a thread, which was listed at the top of the most recent activities, only to see after I replied that the last answer is five months old. I really don't know why it was listed in the "General Discussion" category in second place.

Edit: After clicking reply, the bell-symbol for notifications beside my avatar was activated (red dot), but I can't see any changes there.

I guess, the only thing we can do is to take the challenge and get used to the new way of how these forums work. Giving up is not an option 😄

The thing is, even with short threads, some replies get nested and sorting by Newest isn't helpful to locate them. Some threads are short enough that it's relatively easy to locate and read new posts, but on long threads I have neither the time nor the disposition to sort through them and if it doesn't appear on first page I am no reading it. I think one solution to this issue might be to stick to short threads, but this discourages communication.
