​6-month cooldown glitch during Xbox unlinking - Case #253466233

​Hi EA Community Team,

​An unintended 6-month security cooldown was applied to my account due to a technical UI glitch on the EA website while unlinking my old Xbox account (ADEMZ4390). The site glitched and automatically re-linked it, triggering the timer by mistake.

​Live support agent Kyle Ace confirmed there are no sanctions on my account, but noted he lacked system permissions to override automated timers, though he logged an internal report with the investigation team. Since this was caused by a system fault on EA's end, I am requesting a Community Manager to review and escalate case #253466233 for a manual override.

    The relinking cooldown period is separate from any account sanction. For information about sanctions, please refer to our "Check and appeal EA Account locks, bans, and suspensions" guide.

    To unlink your EA Account from a connected platform account, you’ll need to read the disclaimer and make sure you understand all the risks involved before proceeding.

    Could you explain in a little more detail what you mean by, “The site glitched and automatically re-linked it, triggering the timer by mistake”? Thanks.
