EA won't let me unlink email I no longer have access to
Basically, what the title says.
The email I no longer have access to is linked to my account, so I try to update it to my new one, but it asks for a code that is sent to that email which I can't even grab because its deleted. It's been more than a few years since that email was deleted so I no longer have access to it. I try to add a phone number to my account in hopes that will replace the 2FA, but even then, I need the code that is sent to my non existing email. I'm trying to find where I can create a case on the official EA website but it's a constant loop on locating where I can even do that. (Sorry for any grammar issues.)
Is there anyone out there that could help me with my issue? I've been struggling for years and it's taken me this long to finally do something about it. Thanks to anyone who reads!
Hi de1an3y,
Sorry to hear you’ve been stuck with this for so long.
Since the old email address has been deleted, you won’t be able to complete the email change or add a new verification method through the usual self-service options. An EA Support advisor will need to verify ownership of the account before they can help update the email address.
Please follow this guide:
Get back into your EA AccountScroll to the bottom of the page and select Contact us.
Have as much accurate account information ready as possible, such as your EA ID, linked platform accounts, purchase history, and the original email address.
Unfortunately, we can’t update the email or open an account-recovery case on your behalf from the forums, but I hope the support team can help you regain full access to the account soon.
