FC26 and unlinked EA account
My son was wanting to play online on FC26 but his account wouldn't allow it. When I contacted an agent they advised he was linked to a child account and would need to connect to an adult account to play online. Long story short - I linked to my adult account and he has lost all his progress as it is linked to his child account😭
I've tried to get it relinked back as he would prefer to have all the progress he made rather than to play online but have been told I can't for 6 months. He is really disappointed.
I am not a gamer but he has asked if there might be any way he can even get the coins added to his new account so he can buy players. Does anyone know if this is possible?
An informed decision on my part has led to a very disappointed son, and worst of it is he should have actually had a teen account which would have allowed him to play online as he is 13!
Any help would be much appreciated
thanks
Hey 67Wally sorry to see that your son is in such a situation regarding his account.
If you have unlinked the account and then relinked it and are seeing a message that you must wait 6 months, then I'm sorry to say, but there is no one at EA who can speed this up.
Likewise, we also would not be able to transfer content between accounts; all the risks of linking and unlinking an account are called out in the help article here
When you unlink a platform account from your EA Account, you can link it to another EA Account, but your game progress won’t transfer over. That means you’ll permanently lose access to:
- game progress
- DLC, expansions, and anything extra you have for your game
- memberships and subscriptions
- previous drops and other rewards
- in-game purchases.
The only thing I can recommend is to speak with our live support team to see what they can advise. They may have some process that they can look into to see if there is any options available for your son.
