Can a child account be linked to an adult account?
You can’t link a child's EA Account to an adult account.
If you have an adult EA Account, you can link your teen's account to yours and create a Family account.
In order to protect them, child accounts are very limited in what they're able to do. We have some more information in this article about parental controls. Hopefully that'll help to answer any more questions you have. 🙂

I'm trying to add my son's account to my family. I send him the invite, but for the life of me, I can't get him to be able to log into the website to accept it. There's no option on the app for it, either. I'm at my wits end trying to fight this system to make it work. Any assistance would be appreciated.
So you’re protecting my child by not letting me see their account cool. Well how do they use there childs account for other games or consoles. My kid plays Madden 26 on PlayStation network under a certain username and he would like to be able to play on his switch to using that same username but when trying to sign into the switch to the only option is to sign in using an email.

You protect my newly created 10 year old child's account by not letting me, the parent and legal custodian, manage or even supervise what she can and cannot do, and by prohibiting me from linking her EA account to her Steam account so she can play the EA games I bought for her on the Steam account I created and manage for her? Because, as you'll certainly know, EVERY EA game on steam demands to have your EA and Steam account linked, merely to be able to play your games...
Sounds to me that if we cannot get this resolved, I'll be forced to go look at which EU department is responsible for infringement on parental rights! And while I'm at it, I'll contact the ECC, DG JUST, and the Belgian FOD as well, because you are willingly and knowingly prohibiting her from accessing legally purchased content...
Child accounts are so limited, they can't even play the games I bought for the Switch. This is ridiculous.
Community ManagerHi, if your child can’t access the online features of an EA game even though the platform-level parental settings allow them to play online, it might be because the game content is Mature (M).
Also, all EA titles follow the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls.
Are you trying to say that the Sims 4 is an 18+ game?
Also, it's not merely online play, it won't let her play at all!
And if you guys can't even implement real effective parental controls, where I as the parent and legal guardian can control which games she can and can't play, instead of giving me "parental controls" where I cannot control anything at all, if you sell a game on Steam, why don't you rely on the Steam parental controls, where I actually CAN do this!
Instead of installing a blanket rule, and giving worthless "parental controls", couldn't you implement REAL parental controls, where I, the parent and legal guardian, can actually allow or deny on a per game basis, like I can do in their Steam accounts!
The reality of the thing is, you'll only have the few euros of her 3 packs, as I won't buy her or her 2 brothers any EA game, or any DLC for a "free to play" game, be it on EA itself or on Steam as long as I am not the one in control of their account settings...
