Hi, if your child can’t access the online features of an EA game even though the platform-level parental settings allow them to play online, it might be because the game content is Mature (M).
Also, all EA titles follow the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls.
Are you trying to say that the Sims 4 is an 18+ game?
Also, it's not merely online play, it won't let her play at all!
And if you guys can't even implement real effective parental controls, where I as the parent and legal guardian can control which games she can and can't play, instead of giving me "parental controls" where I cannot control anything at all, if you sell a game on Steam, why don't you rely on the Steam parental controls, where I actually CAN do this!

Thanks for raising your concern. I can understand your concern and desire to ensure that the content your children are playing is age appropriate for them. This is why we make sure to assign an age rating to our games. And the Sims 4 has a PEGI rating of 12.
