I agree with this. EA has taken away the possibility of starting a new save on some of my favourite titles. Cloud Saves cannot be deleted, they cannot be disabled, and NFS Most Wanted 2012, a 14 year-old game, refuses to launch unless it’s connected to the internet.
I have tried caching my credentials in the app, going offline, all of that jazz, and spent 4 hours troubleshooting. I got nowhere but frustrated.
Even if I delete the local save file, for the game to even get past “Authenticating” and launch, I have to re-connect to the Internet, which immediately restores the cloud save before launching the game.
Why has this option been completely eliminated and no alternative or official guidance given? I do not and should not need to create a new account just to replay a game I own.
If EA doesn’t want to allow deletion of cloud saves for whatever reason, at the very least there should be an option to disable cloud syncing entirely, just like in Origin.
Please consider addressing this issue. It has been a frequent complaint ever since the EA App took over from Origin.
