Trying to link my current Xbox account to my EA account

So I tried linking my Xbox account to my EA account but it linked the wrong Xbox account. Talked to an advisor about it and I found out that I had two EA accounts, the old one had my current Xbox series X account and my new EA account most likely had my old Xbox One account that I probably made when I was a kid. I unlinked my old Xbox account from my current EA account. So I have to wait 6 months but when I did some research Google told me that it might not be possible to actually link my current Xbox account because of the whole lifetime link thing. Now I'm terrified because I'm worried that I won't be able to connect my Xbox account that I use. I can't make a new EA account because I don't want to lose all of my Apex Legends progression that I have (I play on PC but want to switch to my Xbox since my PC has a hard time running the game). If I can't link my Xbox account, is it possible for me to make a new EA account and merge them so I don't lose any progress from my game? I rather not make a new EA account but if merging is possible and the only option then I'll just do that.

Hey WeskrsLotion our help article around account unlinking covers all this going into detail around the risks of unlinking.

As frustrating as it is going to sound, if you unlink your account then you can run into issues like you are seeing. If you see an error about needing to wait 6 months then this is not something that we or anyone else can speed up or change.

I'd suggest taking a look at the help article again to be aware of the risks and what is possible.
