A Way Out Invite to friend not working [NEED HELP]

Hey so me and my friend are trying to play and we have both brought the game, But we are not able to join each other. Does anyone know how to fix this

I hit Shift+F1 and it said that I had a friend request waiting from a friend and all I had to do was accept it, we don't really know how the request happened, it was just there, maybe trying those 2 keys?
