Thanks for reaching out to the Answers HQ community and sharing what you are experincing with the EA app.
Would it be possible to get a bit more information on this?
- What type of network are you using? (Wired, wireless, hotspot)
- Does any game you download on the EA app cap at 15 Mbps?
- Does this continue if you test your device on a different network?
Also, when you have a moment we can give the following steps a try...
- Clear EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
- Connection and Advance Connection Guides
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- Close other running applications on your device
- Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates
- Restart your device in Clean Boot mode first then try again.
Thanks!
I've conducted extensive testing on my internet connections, including both wired and wireless options from my local network, and even tethering via my phone's hotspot. In every case, my download speed seems to be restricted to 15 Mbps.
I've also gone through the process of app recovery, shutting down all non-essential applications, and ensuring all my drives are in good condition, yet the speed limit remains constant across any connection method I utilize.
This situation leads me to suspect the download cap might be tied to my IP address, especially since when two PCs are simultaneously downloading a game, the 15 Mbps speed gets split between them.
Could EA possibly confirm if there's a policy in place to cap connection speeds? It would be helpful to know for sure whether this limitation is from their end.

To confirm what do you have the download rate inside the EA app settings set to?
- Select your avatar (top right) > Settings > Download > Limit Download Rate
You can also see your download rate on the downloading window when installing a game...
Cheers!

Unlimited

By unlimited I meant, yes it was unlimited all times i did it. I also tried to toggle between modes when there was two computers downloading at the same time and when it was the case I stopped being stuck at 2 mbs (only when there is two computers) and went for like 8mbs for a few seconds. I had to pause and repeat the download to achieve that. At this point I'm pretty sure EA just tresholds the download to save money on bandwith. Can you confirm or deny this?
