Game Breaking bug Chapter 8 Exile Immortals of Aveum

I’m having trouble with a game breaking bug in chapter 8 of Immortals of Aveum “Exile” I learned the grapple skill and left the portal but when I do, Jak pulls out his green orb the. Proceeds to say “ I don’t have a spell for that” then puts it away without calling Devyn. I can’t proceed with the chapter nor the game without him calling Devyn. I’m get really frustrated and do t want to start the game over just to possibly get this bug again. I need help!

    Yeah after I came out of the shroudfane to get the grapple-lash, Jak did say, "I do not have the spell for that".

    I had no idea what he was talking about.

    However I walked forward and outside, and I could grapple the leyline.

    Did it today about an hour ago.
