I un-installed and reinstalled the game, cleared tge cache, and rebuilt the database (easier then I thought). However nothing worked. When I load into my game there are no objectives to proceed with!
Well what do you know? I continued through the game with my friend helping to guide me and what I read on Reddit by people having this same problem. When my game finally advanced to chapter 17, I started having mission objectives and a compass showed up! So maybe the issue is chapter 16? My friend didn't have the glitch. So I can't really say what caused it. We both play on the ps5. So I guess the answer is continue playing! Doing all those troubleshooting steps didn't help at all.
