It Takes Two - Cannot Connect to EA Servers

Hello - I have been trying to play It Takes Two (Friend's Pass) on Steam, but am encountering the following error when I click the Play Online button (as well as if I just attempt to join a friend's game through invite):

"Unable to Connect to EA servers. Please check your Internet connection, make sure the Platform Client is online and try again. Please see ea.com/unable-to-connect for more information. Result Code: 102-800d0000"

The game has worked previously and I only recently started to have this issue. I am connected to the internet via Wifi and do not have ethernet as a possibility.

I have seen that quite a few others have encountered this issue and have attempted the following fixes:

  • Powering my PC off/on
  • Updating drivers
  • Reinstalling the game
  • Changing my DNS to the Google settings
  • Releasing/Renewing my IP address
  • Validating the files on Steam
  • Launching the game in the EA Launcher
  • Disabling any Proxy settings
  • Restarting my router
  • Simply waiting a few days

I do not use a VPN, so that is not the issue. Oddly enough, I did use a Mobile Hotspot (iPhone, Verizon) and was able to connect to the Online Servers then, however that is not a viable option for playing the game.

    Successful Update:

I have finally found a solution to this Server Connection issue. The issue is stemming from the Public IP Address that was recently re-assigned by my ISP. Getting this changed was able to allow me to connect to the It Takes Two/EA Servers.

HI @income_disko Thanks for the information! If a separate network does allow your device to connect we might be running into an issue on your internet.

Can we try the following steps as well?

  • Hey @EA_Illium I just tried all of those solutions, and none of them were able to fix this issue.

Like you mentioned, given that the mobile hotspot allowed the online services to connect, it is almost certainly a network issue somewhere. That being said, I have also run multiple tests and the speeds are as advertised, and no issues are being caught in troubleshooting.

Following up on this, I've seen mention of making sure that your time is synced which I have done. I also tried downloading this on my Xbox and encountered the same issue. Checked out the actual network settings and UPnP is also enabled, so that and port forwarding would not be the solution.

    Hey there,

Since this thread is more than a year old, it will be closed to stop it from getting necro'd.

If you have the same or a similar issue, please create a new thread.

    Thank you.
