It takes two - How to play co op on PC?

Hi team!

We have bought the full version of it takes two via steam/origin and installed it on our laptop. Technical requirements of the computer are fulfilled.

When I want to start playing local, I get the picture of the girl sitting at the table with her breakfast and underneath the titles

"Start Spieler 1" and "Start Spieler 2" (we live in Germany) and yet underneath the two buttons saying "A /*pictogram of Enter-button*"

So, I read, that we could play with two local players on one PC using one keyboard. All I can do now is sign up as player 1 (then it show's my origin-name) by hitting enter or left click. That's as far as I've got into this game after two days of trying. I have no possibility to enter a player two and (imho) no hint whatsoever, how to do so. I also can't find anything helpful in the options/settings.

What I've tried without success:

  • Connect second monitor
  • Connect mouse
  • Connect keyboard
  • Connect game controller (Nintendo switch pro, once via cable onc via Bluetooth)
  • Create a second origin account to try to add a friend
  • Even let my brother-in-law try

This is getting pretty frustrating for me and especially my son, who spent the 40 €

Could someone please explain, what we're doing wrong or even better how to do it right 😉 we really would like to play!

Thanks to you guys in advance

Andrew

    Hi Forum

Just to let you know, that the problem is solved.

    Leanings:

    • It takes two can't be played with only one keyboard of the same computer. At least one controller is needed.
    • Switch pro controllers can in fact be used, they are supported by steam (as well as PS4, 5 and Xbox) - it took for me to find the settings
    • It takes two is a really cool game

Thanks again @Zeelmaekers for your prompt and practical help, good guy!

    Case closed.

Happy Easter to all, don't lose hope!

    Andrew
