It Takes Two - Issues transferring the save from PS4 to PS5

Hi all, 

I would appreciate your assistance here.

I started playing the game on PS4 and got midway through. I've recently got PS5 and installed both PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. The save file was successfully transferred to the PS5 version. However I did not have 2 PS5 controllers at the time, so we played the PS4 version (on PS5).

Now that I got the second PS5 controller, I was about to start the PS5 version, but no matter what I try, the progress done in the meantime in the PS4 version is not recognized in the PS5 version. I tried everything deleting the PS5 save file, reinstalling the game etc, but it just doesn't show there. I would appreciate if you could advise how get the PS5 save up to speed. (Btw I do not have PS Plus membership if that matters)
