It Takes Two keyboard compatibility over online multiplayer

Was wondering if it takes two is compatible with two keyboards (that is, both people on laptop or PC using keyboard and mouse) when it's over online co-op (not local). I'm aware that local co-op requires one controller and one keyboard because of input issues.
