Reviving this discussion because the other thread was shut down for replies due to being old.  When trying to connect through "online play." I can't get in and get the message that "Your account set...

Thanks, I'm glad that my testing helped. Hopefully others will be able to use your workaround until EA addresses the root issue.

Very disappointing from EA. It is totally a backend authentication bug, and will likely never be fixed.
