found a fix, joined a friend redo the quest starting “Investigate the abnormal changes around Fuyufusagi Fort" then keep playing until he started the collect changing essence. Then finally able to get it too.

This isnt the kind of bug that can be sitting around for a week. It completely stops being able to play.

Joining a friend really isnt going to fix this for the majority. And even that comes down to luck if the friend isnt past it yet. The game would need an online quest board like MH to even think about this as a workaround. Theres no way to see which quest randos are doing and ask to join. (Altho there should be…)

the only valid way to join king tusk is via assist and not a single player has a lobby for king tusk up and hasnt for hours.

Ps5 version. Were both stuck. And tons of discord/ reddit users are reporting the same.  0/2 essenses.  Mighties give no credit no matter how the fight is started.

True. saying “just join a hunt” is crazy to fix a bug in a game we paid money for we don’t need a work around we need a fix especially when as time goes on one will actually be on a chapter 3 hunt out said of release anymore but others with the bug 

After the cut scene of the bird destroying minato and you get the mission saying  prepare for Amaterasu’s return (hunt the Kemono and obtain the changing essence 0/2) after you go hunt any Kemono the 0 Never changes  

im on ps5 but Xbox and pc seem to have this bug as well I’ve been stuck here since Friday every time I join someone they either past it or stuck as well I yet to see someone on the same mission without the bug at this point

if this isnt fixed in the first patch im deleting the game. like enoughs enough

the slow motion when an xbox s player joins u is already insane but this bug blocks u from playing entirely almost

I’ve tried multiple mighty hunts from the camp fire none have progressed the quest, and how are we supposed to join a previous quest online? There is no option to search for previous quests. Does anyone have a timeline on this being fixed? Cause I’m going to refund the game if it’s never going to be fixed.

I managed to rejoin 3 times to the mission with Mighty Kingtusk, finished it, collected the 2 Quest items "changing essence" , killed Amaterasu and the quest, progress and also the trophy for killing amaterasu count for my friends.

I am still at the progress that i just got 0/2 essences when i go back to my world.....

Did you leave their world at any point while doing the quests?

No , i leave their lobby after the quest when we where back in minato.

When are you going to fix the bug?
I can't do the main stage for a few days.

No change after the patch that dropped a few min ago….. :/

My friend and I are having the same issue on PC. We stopped playing when we got to this part of the quest, and now are unable to progress it no matter what we do.

After restart a new game and speed rush the story ( 8 houeq ) I finally get the next quest and the item. The only problem now is to farm again my 80 hours play before....

So, I just found out that there's another hurdle in future chapters. 

My friend experienced this just yesterday. He's on chapter 4, and another main storyline quest appear bugged. He did the quest several times, acting as host playing with friends, even joining random players online. And still no count.

Please, release a fix in the next patch EA
