Red Magic embodies entropy and violence. Its spells can create, rend, and harness energy in extreme ways, manipulating it to unleash a destructive beam or disrupting it to disorient enemies.
Second, there is Blue Magic,
Blue Magic embodies force and the physical manipulation of matter. Fire precise bolts, spontaneously form shields and defensive walls, or manipulate gravity. Blue magic also powers a Magnus’ ability to grapple, push, or pull objects.
And Lastly, there is Green Magic,
Green Magic embodies growth, death, and transition. Spells manipulate enemies and objects by altering them or their surroundings. Bind objects in place, misdirect with illusions, or rend an enemy’s ability to cast or heal.
BE THE BATTLEMAGE
Join the Order of the Immortals, the champion protectors of Lucium, and become Jak, an elite Triarch Magnus. Unleash magic spells with deadly skill, and decimate legions of enemies in a game that defies FPS conventions.
Experience fast, fluid, first-person, spell-based combat that’s easy to learn and satisfying to master. In Immortals of Aveum, magic is at the core of both offense and defense. Creatively leverage all three forces of magic and be rewarded for chained attacks and well-timed counters.
Unlock and upgrade more than 25 Spells and 80 Talents. Discover, upgrade, and craft hundreds of pieces of magical gear. Then synergize your playstyle across all three forces of magic and become Aveum’s most powerful Triarch Magnus.
An Unforeseen, Jak, is thrust into the Everwar – an endless struggle between Lucium and Rasharn over the control of magic. Jak and Lucium’s elite Immortals must race to uncover the mysteries of Aveum’s past, if there’s any hope of saving its future.
In Immortals of Aveum™, you play as Jak—an unlikely Magnus whose newfound potential has found him in the midst of the Everwar, human kind’s endless conflict over the control of magic. Now, it’s time for you to learn about everything he can do. Wield your magic with sigils and spells, build your loadout with gear and skill trees, and fight to uncover the secrets of Aveum and save the realms.
All magic in Aveum can be distilled into three forms: Blue force magic, Red chaos magic, and Green life magic. Each is used in its own ways and functions differently. Though most Magni are only able to control one color of magic, Triarchs are able to harness all three, though they are much rarer because of that. Jak is one such Magnus, allowing him to tap into all three types of magic.
While you venture through the story ofImmortals of Aveum, you’ll gain access to numerous sigils, items, and spells that will allow you to experiment and create unique play. Whether you want to be a jack-of-all-trades or specialize in one color of magic, there’s no wrong way to play.
The most skilled Magni use their magic strategically to greater effect. Different spells can be used in combo, like igniting Green magic Limpets with your Red magic, and some forms of magic are more effective against certain enemies. As a general rule, if you see an enemy empowered and shielded by a specific type of magic, remember to match the magic you attack them with to shred through their defenses.
SIGILS
The primary tool of every Magnus is the Sigil. Sigils allow you to focus and control your magic into powerful attacks.
There are unique sigils for each color of magic and three different variations of each sigil within those colors. These variants function differently based on their spell type, rate of fire, damage output, range, and ammo capacity. As a general rule, however, each color of magic fits a particular style of combat:
Red Sigils- These are best suited for close-quarters combat and explosive attacks
Blue Sigils- Bolt-based spells that reach out over a long range to do precision damage
Green Sigils- Rapid fire armaments that are ideal for mobile combat
Across Aveum, you’ll find plenty of sigil variations to tailor your magic to your playstyle. At any time, you’re able to freely equip and try out different ones to test their unique properties and figure out which is best suited for the fight at hand. Each sigil can also be upgraded at the Forge, so if you find one you really like or want to make stronger, you can do so throughout your journey.
STRIKES
Strike spells are your primary attack and each color of magic has 3 Strike spells to choose from. Combine your Strikes with your Fury and Control spells to create deadly combinations.
Red Strike Spells
Breachfire releases multiple wide bursts magic, Burstfire launches a cannon ball that detonates after a short distance, and Fragfire casts a single, wide burst that staggers enemies at close range (or send them soaring).
Blue Strike Spells
Shrikebolt fires long range bolts with precision, Arclight fires a beam that pierces all enemies in its path, and Javelin releases a long- range spear that you can charge up to do more damage.
Green Strike Spells
Seekershards launches volleys of small homing missiles that track targets, Stormshards fire swarms of homing projectiles ideal for run-and-gun playstyles if you’re willing to sacrifice accuracy, and Maelstrom rapidly fires a volley that become increasingly more accurate with sustained fire but slows your movement speed in the process.
FURIES
Furies are a step above your sigils in terms of power and provide an impactful form of offense. These spells can be devastating, but using them requires Fury Mana, a limited (but replenishable) resource that fuels these attacks.
Fury Mana is most commonly restored by mana crystals that drop in chests or from enemies during combat, but that’s not your only option. Depending on how you tailor your skill tree progression, you’ll also be able to find other ways to restore this magic resource, such as mana regenerating over time when you’ve run out.
AUGMENTS
Not all magic is destructive, however. Magic is part of life in Aveum and is integrated into technology and the world around you. This includes how you’ll interact with the world itself. Augments are spells that allow you to do just that. Hover across wide openings, leap across great distances, and restore corrupted parts of the lands as you travel.
That’s only scratching the surface. Augments allow you to move objects, reshape the environment to scale chasms, and solve puzzles that block your way or hide secrets within. And when you need to fortify your own defenses, you can conjure a magical shield to protect yourself while still returning fire through it.
CONTROL SPELLS
When magic is harnessed into a totem—an object of power attuned to one of the three colors of magic—you’ll be able to manipulate both the world and your enemies in completely new ways.
Using Control spells, you’ll be able to slow enemies and objects with Limpets, pull them close with your Lash, and even stun enemies with a precision beam from your Disrupt lens.
DOMINION SPELL
When all else fails, you can’t. As you fight through battles in the Everwar, your ultimate attack, a Dominion spell known as Immolate, will charge up.
By combining all three colors of magic, you harness their full power into a beam of pure annihilation. Use it to raze legions of enemies to the ground or to burn through even the strongest of foes.
PROGRESSION
In addition to being able to upgrade your sigils, you’ll also find many other avenues of progression inImmortals of Aveum. The game features 25 spells and over 80 talents to unlock on your talent tree. Each branch of the tree primarily focuses on one of the three colors of magic, but encourages you to experiment with all three, allowing you to specialize or generalize to your playstyle.
Of course, you won’t be restricted from experimenting, though. You’ll be able to easily reallocate your talent points for a cost by visiting a Forge. It’s at these Forges that you’ll also be able to purchase and upgrade the hundreds of unique items in the game.
This includes the Sigils, Totems, Rings, and Bracers you can equip. Each of them has unique properties that will boost your stats, so equipping the right gear can make a huge difference in the effectiveness of your build and overall power. Make sure to test out different combinations to help yourself become as offensive, defensive, or versatile as you want to be. Your gear and talents allow you to customize your magic to your own playstyle.
LOCATIONS
You’ll venture to many places during your time in Aveum, exploring twelve unique biomes across the world. You’ll quickly find yourself venturing through the larger world.Immortals of Aveumplays host to three bustling hubs where you can chat with local denizens, embark on missions, or refine your gear in the Forge.
But Aveum is also home to vast reaches of wildness, vibrant landscapes, unknown depths, and ancient ruins from times of peace and war. Each of these can be filled with dangers, from Rashanian troops to beasts that are ever on the prowl.
Between is all is the Wound, a formless, growing void that divides the land and constantly threatens to consume more. There is great mystery surrounding the existence of these vast depths, but the more imminent threat lies beyond it.
Though the Order of the Immortals fights on the side of Lucium, across the Wound is Rasharn, a large, prosperous kingdom and Lucium’s archenemy. This nation is led by the tyrant Sandrakk, and under his rule the armies of Rasharn have marched across the world, conquering and destroying any who stand in their way.
Lucium is strong, but Rasharn’s might grows stronger every day. It’s now up to Jak and the Immortals to save not onlytheirhome but the homes ofallfree peoples of Aveum. Fight alongside daring warriors like Devyn and Zendara under the guidance of Grand Magnus Kirkan, meet characters who have their own agendas and goals, and become an Immortal.

Yes, we have a HUD, which will help you feel the impact of combat as you play. Head here to see how to manage your health and mana, and get a peek at hit markers for enemies:
Up next for gameplay basics is combat. Your Red “Chaos” Magic lets you get up close and personal - especially when paired with your shield. Use red magic to blast enemies away with impactful concussive attacks.
Your Blue “Force” Magic is for the sharp-shooters. Take out enemies from afar with precision hits before they can ever reach you.
Your Green “Life” Magic lets you run-and-gun, controlling the battlefield with rapid-fire homing attacks to barrage your enemies.
But you’re not just limited to your sigils. Melee your enemies back, unleash powerful Furies, and master your support Totems to control the battlefield. But be warned: Enemies come in all shapes and sizes. Larger, stronger ones won’t stagger as easily as your average trooper.
We’ll be taking a closer look at combat over the next few weeks. In the meantime if you have a question, sound off below!
You don’t become an Immortal without taking down a few big guys! You asked how enemies use magic and we've got answers.
Enemies usually wield one type of Magic - Red, Green, or Blue - and are color-coded based on what they use. For example, if you see a red enemy, you know they’ll try and hit you up-close and HARD.
But an enemy’s color also shows its weakness. Using the same example, if you hit that red enemy with Red Magic, you’ll take down their defenses faster!
Sometimes enemies can wield multiple colors. We recommend chipping away at their defenses first. If you see a red enemy using a blue shield, use your Blue Magic to shred it down.
This is an Everwar, so the bad guys are going to throw everything they've got at you. Luckily you can wield all three colors of magic. Find the right combo of Red, Green, and Blue that works for you, and you’ll be an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
The launch ofImmortals of Aveum™ is upon us! The Everwar makes the world a relentlessly dangerous place, so we’re here to arm you with the best tips and tricks to win the day.
These tips come from the developers themselves over at Ascendant Studios. The team has shared their favorite techniques and suggestions to enhance your experience and give you the edge you need to defeat the forces of Rasharn.
Shields charged, Fury spells ready, we’re set to go… Sigils up!
THE BASICS
First off, players take control of the protagonist, Jak (played by Darren Barnett), who unexpectedly manifests magical abilities and is reluctantly thrust into mankind’s endless war for the control of magic. Facing down Sandrakk, the Tyrant of Rasharn, and saving Aveum from crumbling into oblivion is going to take courage, devastating spells, and a whole lot of magic. Here’s what you need to know:
Triarch Magnus - While most Magni can wield one, sometimes two colors of magic, Jak is an Unforeseen Triarch Magnus - a spellcaster capable of harnessing all three colors of magic, Red, Blue, and Green.
Sigils- A battlemage’s primary weapons that allow them to focus and control their magical abilities into powerful attacks.
Strike Spells- A battlemage’s main attack, and each color of magic has 3 Strike spells to choose from
Control Spells- Off-hand spells that help you control the battlefield. Ensnare enemies with Lash, slow them down with Limpets, or stun them with Disrupt..
Fury Spells- a heavy attack that does high damage and requires Fury mana to cast.
Dominion- Your ultimate attack that channels all three colors of magic into a devastating beam that does massive damage
Augment Spells- Manipulate and navigate the environment in and out of combat with abilities like Blink, Hover, Shield, Grapple, and more.
Talents- Upgrades to your spells and abilities. As you earn experience and defeat enemies, you can unlock nodes in the Red, Blue, and Green Talent trees to customize your playstyle.
Blue Magicis best for long-range crit damage and boosting defenses with a Shield.
Red Magicwill often stagger or push back enemies and is great for up-close crowd control.
Green Magicuses rapid-fire magic projectiles that hone in on targets, and is great for a run-and-gun style. And remember, matching your attack with the enemy’s magic color will more efficiently shred their defenses.
Aveum is full of mysterious secrets. As you pick up new spells and abilities, be sure to revisit previous locations. You never know what you’ll discover from a hidden Golden Chest or at the end of a Shroudfane.
So what sort of tips and tricks does the Dev team have?
JASON, LEAD COMBAT DESIGNER
Fragfire and Breachfire Chaos (Red) Strike spells do more damage the closer you are to the enemy.
Chronicler's crystals will explode if you cast lethal damage against their crystal.
Cast the Control spell Disrupt on big enemies to stagger them and give yourself a breather.
When exploring, always look up! Many large tree roots hold secrets!
The "Perfect Block" talent unlocks a parry-like system for your Shield.
If you are focusing on one type of Sigil, use a Fury-focused Sigil for your off-hand Sigil. This will give you the benefit of boosting the attributes of your Fury spells while keeping your main Sigil tuned to delivering maximum Strike damage.
Some Talents synergize with other talents and gear. Experiment to find some interesting ways to gain power! You can respec your talents at any time as long as you are not in combat.
Red Shroudfanes are not for the faint of heart. (That’s why they only appear after you’ve completed the main story!)
PETER, INTAKE ARTIST
Blink is a super versatile Control spell in your toolkit. Keep your eyes peeled for a bevy of upgrades that enhance it, and equipment that adds Blink charges or reduces cooldown time.
Experiment with utilizing your Control spells versus different enemy types. Remember that they can be used independently from your Sigils, so you can toss Limpets and fire off Strike attacks simultaneously.
Aim for weak points on some larger and tougher enemies like Constructs and Archons.
Mana Well (a Green Talent) is a great early Talent pick regardless of your preferred Sigil or Fury magic color.
Keep your ears perked for the sound of flying motes of light and lore items. Both give you bonus Ascension experience points that will help you level up on your journey to becoming a mighty battlemage.
Blink and Shield are like the PB&J of defensive moves, so look for upgrades that maximize the synergy between the two skills.
If you time it right, you can use Lash to pull Grenadiers into their own mortars
SUPER, LEAD COMBAT ENGINEER
Limpets slow enemies giving you more time to target weak points.
Disrupt causes a powerful Spell Break effect when the enemy is casting, look for the yellow glow on their health meter.
Spell Break a Red Magnus to prevent them from healing.
Bash can be aimed down while in the air, allowing you to dive punch targets below you or Bash people on ledges from the air.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
A Lashed enemy can't retaliate so it's a good defensive option when reloading or your Shield is charging! -Ada, Senior Engineer
There’s a Blue Talent that restores 20% of your Shield health after using Blink. It works when your shield has been destroyed, too! Check it out! -Jessica, Art Outsourcing Manager
You can drop enemies off cliffs using Lash and never see them again. -Gloria, Cinematic Animator
Hopefully you’ll find our developers’ advice helpful as you dive into the Everwar-torn world of Aveum! Be sure to put as many of these tips and tricks to the test while you play and find out what fits best with your own playstyle. There are plenty of ways you can equip Jak and use his powers in battle, so make sure to experiment.

“THE ECHOLLECTOR” Content Update is a new endgame objective for players who want more lore and new content to play through once they’ve reached the later chapters.
