Will the other copy link with my friends account?

In the last video trailer the game developer said that you only have to buy one copy of the game in order to play coop with a friend. Does that mean that the "free copy" will link with my friends acc...

    Because English lacks a gender-neutral single-person singular pronoun, it's hard to tell.  People frequently use "they" to avoid having to use "he or she".  But the official pre-order site page title is, "A Way Out Friends Pass", plural. 🤔

    And it says this about the Friends Pass:

    "A Way Out is designed to be played with two players from start to finish. You can team up with a friend on your couch and play, or you can invite any of your friends online regardless of whether or not they’ve purchased the game.

    That’s right, when you buy the full game you can play the entire experience with any of your friends online. Send them an invite, they’ll unlock the Free Trial, and then you’re ready to play."

I would read "you can invite any of your friends online regardless of whether or not they’ve purchased the game" as meaning that you're not restricted to nominating a single friend. 

At this stage I don't have any more information than what's been released already, but I'll update this if I do get a more solid confirmation.

    So there is nothing set in stone, but the video implies that you can have a copy of the game and send out an invite to any of your friends. They can download the trial and play with you. I would imagine that they cannot play the game unless invited by someone who owns the full copy, but as David said, the closer we get to release, the more detailed the information will be.
