When the Play Button is greyed out, usually clearing the cache via App Recovery and restarting the EA app and your PC should do the trick.
Please give it a go an let me know how it went.

Sadly clearing the cache did not help and the same issue remains.

The resolution to this issue was to refund the pre-order. Kinda ridiculous but at least I can play the game now.

I've tried everything to the point of uninstalling to reinstall and now I cannot even re-install because the library game is overruled by the message saying my trial has expired, but I own the game. how can this be happening?
