@insignianiney This process definitely works for most games, and I would expect it to work for all of them. The only exception I can think of is if you first have a higher-tier edition of a game and then get a lower-tier version (e.g. the Ultimate Edition vs. the standard one), you'd be missing the content from the higher version. It's possible that some saves wouldn't load becuse of that missing content, but that's typically not the case.
As examples, saves from Sims and Mass Effect games can be shared among players and work just fine as long as the receiving player has all the content used to create that save. Since saves are stored locally on the computer, account status doesn't matter, although for ME and similar games you'd want to disable cloud saving and manage things manually. There may be a game or two for which this doesn't work, but I haven't heard of that happening. Still, this is why it's helpful to ask on the game forums for the games you want to play, just in case one in particular has a peculiarity that gets in the way/
