Refund on EA Play
Hi,
I have been attempting to get a refund on ea play on my sons account since the renewal payment was taken on 7th March.
I called your UK helpline on 8th March to be told my sons account didnt exist and that despite you having my credit card details to track the payment, you wouldnt look into any more and couldnt help me.
I went home, verified my sons account details then raised a help ticket request on the 9th March requesting the same - i was told someone would get back to me and they didnt.
I chased this again with another help ticket on the 11th March - again i was told someone would get back to me and they didnt.
I chased this again on 22nd March - again i received no response.
I called your helpdesk on 22nd March - again i was told that no one could help me due to my sons account not being able to be accessed
I have this morning gone through this again with your live chat - only to be told that because 7 days have passed since you took payment, you cant provide me with a refund. I asked to be passed onto soemone that can actually help me and they also told me to waste more of my time and report this all in a forum post that apparently will get viewed - so this is what im doing.
All this despite me contacting you less than 24 hours after you took renewal payment from me and despite the fact that on the 5 prior attempts i have reached out to you for a resolution you have systematically failed to help.
My son has not used his ea play account for many months now and i want it cancelled and a refund please.
Hey @lobs123 our memberships for EA Play are not refundable.

CANCELLING AN EA PLAY MEMBERSHIP
Click Cancel Membership to end your membership.
Leave us feedback on how to improve EA Play if you’d like. Once you’ve confirmed you want to cancel, you’ll continue to have your membership benefits until the end of your current billing cycle.
If you already canceled and want to rejoin, there will be an option to Renew Membership if you’ve just recently canceled, or Sign up if it’s been awhile.
Things to know:
- Once your membership is canceled, you’ll no longer have access to games in The Play List.
- When you cancel, you’ll have access to all membership features until the start of your Next Billing Date.
- If your membership expires or you cancel it, you won’t be able to play games available with EA Play unless you’ve purchased them separately or if you reactivate your membership.
- If you backed up all of your game saves or characters before upgrading, you can go back to those earlier saves to keep playing.
- Saves with progress you’ve made since upgrading may still work after downgrading with some games, but others have features, items, or areas only available with the upgraded version. You won’t be able to access these save games on downgraded game versions.
