AI qualifying train in the last 2 minutes

Yeah maybe but they seem to get the AI to behave okay on their opening Q flying laps or even formation laps in a race, I don't see why they couldn't figure this out too.
Qualifying is important in F1 so it should be represented well in game especially for street circuits like Monaco, so it needs to be polished like the race itself imo.
Not having time to make qualifying realistic in a F1 game feels wrong thats all.

The next time you guys do a qualifying session just watch the AI on the track map when they post their last time and you'll see what i'm on about, seeing it for 1000th time gets a bit much and feels silly for whats meant to be a sim.

I admit I don't think there are many players who play like us - fully qualif. -

I would say only 10% (I am saying random stuff, but I suspect so) play full or even single day qualif.

But out of the 10% that I am sure everybody noticed it because it is impossible not to, and still, you seem to be the only one complaining about it.

don't get me wrong, the more realistic, the better, but I doubt it is an easy fix that would take a lot of coding and behavior modeling for AI for it to happen. For 1 person complaining about it, I don't think it is going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, If they remove 1 lap qualify and 1 session only qualifies, and all people "have to" play full realistic qualification, I would say the problem would be seen by everybody, and there would probably be more reason to try to fix it. It's just a matter of worth: time invested to fix it, money spent for those devs, and real improvement for % of people in the game.

Games are business. They are not our dream come true usually/unfortunately ☹️

Honestly, I am supporting you; I totally agree it is weird and unrealistic, but I would wish they use every second of their time to actually better/deeper "myteam" than fix qualifications. Devs' time is limited.

I'm not demanding they fix it now just for me mate haha, I purely asked if anyone else here is aware of it and if they think it is silly too regardless of their opinion on coding.
I'm aware there are more important things to fix hence why I put it in the discussion section and not the bug section.
Christ I know FFB and many other things need sorting before this but I wasn't asking for that was I.

All I do is speed up time to avoid seeing it but if i need to put in a late lap i'm forced to drive behind a slow moving train of AI and it shouldn't be that way.

Yeah, I just speed up too toward the end. But I never felt it was a big problem as long as the big name still came in the higher position. I would hate to see Verstappen 11th or other strange happening because of some weird condition on the pit they couldn't model well. And if they don't code it right It would kind of happen often probably not once every 20 races

I am torn about it. it would be nice, but I fear if they code something like that, it would happen too often and make it weird 

maybe an option to allow it or not in the setup like "Heavy possible traffic on/off" ahahah (just to make it even harder for them to code they have to code it twice)

In the past games, there have been two types of final qualifying results for the AI:

- Lap times recorded before the player crosses the finish line.
- Lap times recorded AFTER the player crosses the finish line.

For the first type, these lap times represent the AI's final lap completed ahead of you finishing your own lap after the countdown reaches zero. These lap times are completed by the AI physically driving on the track, reflecting their actual performance affected by various factors like traffic, mistakes, or damage.

As for the second type, these lap times are recorded by the AI that haven't completed their final lap AFTER you have crossed the finish line when the countdown is already zero. In this case, these lap times are simulated, meaning they are not actually driven by the AI physically on the track. Instead, the game itself determines how fast they hypothetically went.

The peculiar aspect of the second type is that these results are not influenced by anything happening on the track. Even if you intentionally damage the AI's front wing during both their first and final runs (without causing them to DNF), and you see them entering the pit without a single lap time posted when the countdown is already at zero, they will still magically have a simulated lap time recorded on the final results as if FIA had given them an extra lap to do qualifying. 

The only way to prevent unrealistic Ai lap time is to finish your final run behind everyone.

Yup they nearly always post their fastest time with their last attempt in the train of AI, doesn't matter if you simulate it or not.
You can be sat in the pit or be out on track too and they'll somehow still post a faster time despite the traffic.
All I ask is they gradually send the AI out around the 3 minute mark, rather than all of them within a 10-20 second period because it looks so dumb how it is now.
