AI qualifying train in the last 2 minutes

Do the AI all rush out in the last 2 minutes of qualifying for everyone else?

They end up creating a massive bunched up train of 19 or 21 cars yet somehow end up posting their fastest times of the session despite the traffic.

I feel like its been a thing in past games but its so dumb to watch happen especially when they're able to post a better time than you after this.

@matty0blobberNo no no don't get it wrong I'm not questioning you.

However, what's happening here it, while it indeed looks stupid to see many of them bunched up like that, the video you shown here was exactly the same situation of what I explained on the last post.

If you have noticed, he was the second car that crossed the line with the rest of the grid still behind him doing their flying lap. In situation like this, where us player didn't actually "watch" the Ai completing their entire lap before the game load into the result screen, the game will simply just simulate their lap times, disregarding what was happening on the track until that point, and because of the game was also programed to simulate track evolution, their final run will always be faster if it's simulated.

Fast Forward, Return to Garage / skip to Flying Lap, etc, (basically anything that made the game jump to a loading screen before the Ai completed their flying lap) also had the same effect.

but then why do the cars close to him have a realistic gap? why can't they apply the same logic all around when out on track?
If they staggered their pit exit like the cars close to him it would be fine because he doesn't see the cars near him finish either yet they're spread out okay.

He would've already been out on track when they chose to all come out that way so he wasn't even simming them leaving the pit lane in that situation, the games just decided to throw them all out there even on a street circuit like that.

Honestly, I don't think he complains about them doing the fast lap. I think his problem is that it is unrealistic that so many cars get out simultaneously and keep a perfect distance to do an undisturbed last lap; simulated or not doesn't matter; usually better than the earlier one 75%-80% of the time.

I am sure he is okay with them doing better laps later in the session; he just doesn't like the "fake" feeling of so many cars doing it all together simultaneously. If they would go out mid-time, you could have time to study their time and react, maybe try an extra time, but in this way, like last 3 minutes is the one-shot qualification. Don't even bother to make an early one. Just go out simultaneously as them, go directly to the flying lap (so ai, keep your distance), and do your one-shot lap together with everybody else.

I totally get his point; I just don't think is a priority or easy to fix. But yeah, I am not a fan of qualifications right now I feel is kind of pointless the way it is is very similar to one-shot (just wasting lot more time)

Yeh its more a realism thing and I of course understand its not a priority, but even in that video i posted a few of those cars post faster times still which does add to it feeling silly.

The only way why I keep doing qualification is so AI uses the red tire, and the tire selection is more realistic

with one-shot qualification, you save a lot of red tire with 0% use, and AI tend to do four pit stop to take advantage of those red tires (in 100% race)

if you do real qualification AI use the red tired and the pit stops are more 1 yellow 1 white 1 red (at least for the top 10) rather than 1 red 1 red 1 red 1 yellow (one-shot quali)
