This bug was in F1 22 too, really annoying as every race following a sprint is ruined by the crazy strategy which the AI follow. There are never any Hard compound tyres available so strategy options for the player are also compromised. Love the improvement to the game playability over F1 22 but this bug is ruining the whole thing as I mainly play two player career with my mate. Please sort this EA or I will be demanding a refund as it's spoiling the game!
Me too! 2 player career is the reason we bought this game. I really hope they fix it in the next patch because this year's game makes it even more waste of time as there are 6 sprint weekends.
Are people only getting this after Sprint races? I've just had it on Mexico which doesn't have a Sprint race. Half the AI got disqualified for not pitting, the other half pitted 4 times in a 25% distance race. My co-op partner has his suggested strategy as stopping 4 times too and can't edit it nor change his tyre selection.
Worse than this, since the latest update I get a mechanical failure in almost every race despite having no components at more than 35% wear, and I can't even disable mechanical failures as it automatically switches the setting back on, no matter how many times I disable it. It's happened in 2/3 races since the update and the only one it didn't happen was under a safety car for a large number of laps.
Ah OK that makes sense in that case. I don't think it's ever happened to me more than a handful of times where I'm the one with the messed up strategy but happens to my co-op buddy all the time, which then ruins the race for both of us as it's a guaranteed 1-2 usually.
That said, the serious mechanical failure bug impacting me at the moment is even worse as I'm getting DNF every race, so that guaranteed 1-2 becomes just a guaranteed 1 for him.
