What happens when the bug occurs? Upon entering the race, the race strategy selection menu ceases to exist. It defaults to placing you on soft tyres and you have no way of entering the menu to change your fuel load, car set up or pit strategy. Upon finishing the race, you are presented with an error message that states "The attempt to submit results failed. The results were invalid." Once you've clicked "Okay", it presents another error screen stating "Are you sure you want to cancel? All progress from this session will be lost and your results will not be uploaded." Pressing the "Retry" button doesn't remedy the issue and just loops between the two error message. No score is given and no data is uploaded to the leaderboard. Retrying the event once an hour causes you to eventually get locked out of the event entirely. "Go to Race" becomes greyed out and an "ALL RACES FINISHED" message is shown alongside an "R" graphic in red with an X in the corner despite at the time of writing, there is approximately 10 hours remaining on the event.
What do you expect to see? A score given to those who participated, their results uploaded to the leaderboard and rewards given as specified in the event description. Alternatively, some form of compensation for those that can't complete the event due to these specified problems.
Based on my experience, I participated in two events at A license level, both of which had the same problem. In total, that's 50 laps on Canada with no race strategy available to select for both. The first race I finished in P9 starting from P14 on the grid and in the second race, I finished in P7 once again starting from P14 on the grid. I had time penalties for both races from accidental corner cutting, 6 seconds for one and 3 seconds for the other; besides that - very clean racing until the end. I was using the Max Verstappen in-game racesuit, helmet and car livery that came with the pre-order bonus.
I have a somewhat large amount of patience and I was willing to re-try the event again tomorrow before the timeframe is up to see if the problem is fixed only to find that I'm now completely locked out of the event entirely. I've attempted to re-boot my game several times to find I still have no option to enter the matchmaking countdown screen.
I'm very disappointed as this is the first major community event that has been hosted that's time sensitive and it's a complete mess. I feel like I've wasted my time participating in this event, not once, but twice... and would expect some form of compensation for the time I had to put aside only for it to be wasted.
Yep...same issue
