@Alex_83_SE wrote:An inconvenience to reset controls.. For sure.. My problem is that regardless of what i do, i can not get the game to work on a combination of keyboard and wheel!
When i use the default ones, keyboard also has a checkbox. Once i save my changes (forced as a copy) the keyboard is no longer ticked, and i can not use my keyboard in the game, not even pressing ESC to get the menu.. So it is totally unplayable since i use the KB for menus and stuff, and also have some keybinds i use during races.
Was reading this thread after my last contribution, thinking it would be a dumpster fire 🔥 but your post stood out.
Can you give steps to reproduce because I use a keyboard and wheel and it doesn’t do this, both keyboard presets remain and the keyboard is fully functional.
A dxdiag is vital, thanks.

@SteveJacksonOk, managed to just plug the wheel in haphazardly and tried it. So the deal is, and what was the culprit was that I set a keyboard key inside the wheel settings. That made the default keyboard setting turn off. So as long as I dont assign any keys in the wheel, it works fine. Was easier now when i'm in a calm mood, rather than being frustrated that i cannot play when i finally had some time to play for a bit!. So.. I guess it works like intended after all@Alex_83_SE That’s exactly what I’ve done but it’s a menu control rather than a wheel action.
Still would help me if you could at least confirm the wheel and which control you remapped.
That’s how I help others, cheers.
- 2 years ago@SteveJackson Thrustmaster TX. And what first made it happen now when I tested quickly was rebinding pause to ESC. Also happened when i bound numpad 0 to the in game car menu (name escapes me at the moment). Remove those keys from the wheel menu, and the keyboard icon had the green tick again.

By in-game car menu you mean button assigned to MFD?
