@BadMayh3mI did.
Notably, I refunded it after seeing that they left in bugs from last year's game and the other inexcusable bugs that made it into release.
Unlike you, I decided to NOT be a part of the problem, and did NOT contribute to the message that this behavior is acceptable. If next year's game isn't full of the same disgraceful bugs that this one is, then you can thank me.
What you're doing and promoting won't lead to anything other than the same disappointment, year after year. Good job! Since the most recent patch the force feedback for my Thrustmaster T300rs does not work anymore. It would occasionally cut out before the patch but I could get it working. Now I cannot even get it to turn on.

Can we get this one straight, @Trekari?
@Trekari wrote:If next year's game isn't full of the same disgraceful bugs that this one is, then you can thank me.
YouIs this sealed already? F1 24 will be a hit because of you? Or does the community still need to endorse this attitude and refund en masse for EA to reconsider their business plan?
Because if it's still a case of the latter:

Notably, I was smart enough to refund it after seeing that they left in bugs from last year's game and the other inexcusable bugs that made it into release.
So again, unlike you, I decided to NOT be a part of the problem, and did NOT contribute to the message that this behavior is acceptable. What on earth do you think you're accomplishing by drawing a line between you, the smart one, and people unlike you? I don't have a copy of the Oxford nearby but even my dog can connect the dots and come up with some unsavory examples of unlikeness to "smart".
What on earth do you think you're accomplishing by insulting other players? No one has ever been coaxed into doing something by being called stupid online.
Yes, people should absolutely refund F1 23 if they can't have their 60-70 worth of entertainment out of it. Even more so those with proper simracing rigs, as the state of FFB and functionality with major brands is unacceptable right now.
Now can you be competent enough to persuade others into doing that without stepping to this needless snarkiness, pettiness and borderline insulting tone?
Goes without saying, but what's 60-70 quid worth for one won't be the same for you. I don't think F1 23 deserves that sort of money in its current state, not even if it'd had a smooth release, but I won't be throwing no tantrums online if I ever come across someone who thinks it does.

@mariohomoh
Read what I was responding to, and ask yourself how that nonsense of thanking me for next year's game was meant.
I took it as a flippant insult.
Out of respect for the end-goal here, I will edit my previous response.
People who blindly pledge to buy the game every year regardless of the quality are obstacles to getting a better product, no different than the suits at EA who force the game to release when it isn't ready. - mariohomoh3 years agoHero (Retired)@Trekari in a way, anyone that consumes as product serves as a disincentive for that company to put out a better product next time.
But are we really going to judge someone for the value they attribute to their 60 bucks? Going to scoff them for spending that money on their F1 game?
If they got their money worth out of it, kudos for them.
If they didn't, absolutely should refund if still able to. Perhaps get back to it later on a sale, or grab an used copy on the cheap somewhere.
If they didn't and cannot refund? Hopefully that's a lesson learned. But kicking them online will absolutely not help that lesson sink in.
@BadMayh3m specifically is an old timer, has been playing these games probably longer than any of us has ever been able to reach the gas pedal. And he's got his grievances with F1 23 as well, stick around and you'll eventually see.
Heck if I will criticize him for spending his money on these games if he thinks he's getting enough out of them, or if he has confidence enough in this franchise to jest that he'll do the same next year.
His opinion is valued, has hanged around with the occasional dev in these forums and the original ones, and he voicing his discontentment with the few (or many) ways that F1 23 rubs him the wrong way packs some punch. Don't think it's fair to equate him to the "suits" at EA, even as a rhetorical artifice. - BadMayh3m3 years agoSeasoned Ace@mariohomoh 1st Thanks for the kind words!
There is no doubt the other person wants the same thing I do....A BETTER GAME as do we all!
We all just dont agree how to get there and Ive been as mad as anybody else and pretty sure Ive said worse over the years.
To me we are having a Discussion about something I personally like and for me that is just as enjoyable as playing the game. - ScarDuck143 years agoLegend
I suppose best way for us as a consumer to protect ourselves. Is whenever buying a digital game from a company where we have a game account where all the games we buy from them are linked under one account. Would be to create a new account whenever buying a new game. So no other game is linked to that account. Because we consumers have excellent online purchase protection. We may not be able to get a refund from company we purchase our products from. But our bank or credit agency absolutely will. Five minute phone call to them explaining situation and give them any supporting information such as links to sites or community forums. They will instantly credit your account. Also as banks and credit agencies don’t pay seller instantly for every transaction but every 28 days. It means we have 28 days to contact bank and get refund. So bank will notify seller that transaction has been withheld due to consumer complaints etc. Bank will also say to company as purchaser was not present don’t even bother trying to dispute the withheld payment.
So what’s having separate accounts got to do with anything? If EA is informed by bank that payment has been withheld. EA and all other game companies will permanently lock you out of your game account. So you obviously cannot play any game linked to same account:
They get us by making us and convincing us having all our games we buy from them linked under one account greatly benefits us. But it’s entirely for their benefit. To stop us from using the one thing we have that they have no defence against when it comes to online purchases.
I’ll miss my little silver star 🙄😂Stop sniping at eachother. If you’re smarter than someone else. Then help them don’t kick them. All off you that have genuine grievances if You direct them to were the blames lies: you’ll all be pointing in the same direction.

Right but If you've returned the game and you won't buy 24.... it begs the question why you're still on the patch related forums telling people 'i told you so'?
You're using everyone else's downfall to make yourself feel better, you're telling others they're the problem while making out you're smarter than everyone here because you saw it coming and got a refund.
Congrats.
Funny thing is... you apparently know so much more than everyone here...yet you still bought it.
You probably still bought it for the same reasons all of us here did despite knowing EA's reputation, yet you're making out you're a step ahead of us somehow.
Nobody here is defending EA's reputation, not one person here has and no one here trusts them.
People bought this because they're huge F1 fans, its the same with any sports franchise they put out.
You're not saying anything that people don't already know, it's all stuff that's been regurgitated on the internet for years, yet you're puffing your chest out as if you've done something.
You know people are annoyed and you're just here to stoke the fire in hope it's then aimed at EA.
If you wanna follow the forums to check if its fixed cool, but why are you within a patch discussion thread (when you don't own the game anymore) telling people they should've got a refund when they had the chance...c'mon man.

I did buy it, and I refused to play even a single minute of it until I got an idea of the quality so as not to risk my ability to refund it.
When the defects were made known, in particular the tyre strategy bug still being present from last year, I waited to see if the first patch was acceptable.
it was not, so I followed through with my plan to return it.
I never said that I won’t buy next year’s game. I won’t commit to buying it regardless of quality. If I do purchase it, I’ll do so with the same intent on refunding it again if EA hasn’t learned the right lessons.
I continue to visit the forums to see if the Inexcusable state of this game has been fixed. If what I’ve said has been regurgitated so much, then why are people still falling for the same behavior every year?
- me neither
