Reinstalled the game, verified the files, still no goals function.
Please, do something!

Dropping my two coins in:
* As an employee of software company, I understand the frustration with bugs in software. However, when you focus on bug fixing every time someone raises an issue, you'll never fix anything properly and you'll never improve anything, either. Pushing developers to work on new stuff every time someone complains about something has much more disruptive effect.
They must decide on priorities to move their software forward. However, I get the feeling that CM's priorities are pushed by EA to wrong direction and therefore proper fixes are scarce and new bugs are introduced.
* Re new bugs, I just got a weird one. After the race, game gave me error message that highlight reel was not created due to an error. I could see it in after-race summary, though. It just wasn't in Theatre menu. Quite odd as I didn't expect it to be available in "View highlights" in race summary menu, either. Even not sure if it is a new bug as it never happened before to me.
* Night races are still weird when I use cockpit view. Everything around halo and halo column is pixelated, with big squares, so it's blurry and distracting. Even with halo column off, pixelation happens around all elements on front of the car (antennas, etc.)

I use AI set to 85-100 and I must say, I like it. AI drivers are fair, not diving in stupidly, wheel-to-wheel are much more enjoyable. And they don't give up easily.
Just finished Jeddah and I had nice few laps-long fight with Merc driver, especially in T1 and T2.

I also use Pit Release assist as I am not bothered. And I also have to be on brake even before control is returned. But there few tracks when you don't need to care, e.g. Brazil or Zandvoort.
I guess it would much more fun to get control back before end of white line, otherwise engineer's comment about being careful when exiting pit lane is quite useless 😉 - @P4st3l1ak I agree.
I don't see why control can't be returned once you've left the Pit. The entry is when you lose control...it'd make more sense. - @ScarDuck14 I’m on PS5 so that’s encouraging.

This video, while not "F1" related or directed at EA specifically, beautifully sums up the overall situation that EA has decided to place itself in.

The tl;dw version: Actually good games, like BG3, are causing some studios to 'panic' thinking that fans will expect a better product, instead of the cash-grab, bug-filled nonsense that some people continue to put out every year.
EA has released one patch every two weeks since launch, fixing a small handful of issues each time, for a game that released with a massive amount of inexcusable bugs. Some of these inexcusable bugs remain almost two months after launch, with no sign of urgency on being corrected.
Larian, publishers and developers of BG3, have released 3 patches since August 3rd, fixing (cumulatively) nearly one thousand bugs of various severity. Notably including two patches one day apart that each fixed a few hundred things. ONE DAY APART.
I know which company looks like they care, and which company I'd rather support. BG3 is likely to be the GOTY winner. F1 is going to be...just another forgettable entry in a list of yearly DLC failures.
Why not be more like Larian, EA?

Thanks for confirmation. This is the first time it happened to me so I guess it's an intermittent issue then. I wonder what is the trigger for this highlight problem, it cannot be something simple. - P4st3l1ak2 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Trekari
This is an example of what developers should do. Set priorities, scrap useless features gamers don't even want and give players the experience they expect instead of maximising their profit.
And I liked BG3 early release, much better approach than closed betas. We could feed back info about game and pin-point problems and bugs so they were able to fix major issues prior official release date. And that's great because you have much, much larger pool of testers than company can afford to buy internally. The profit will eventually come because gamers will share their experience that will attract more of them.
