"EA didn't exactly say there was a problem with the first release did they..."
They didn't say anything about it, they simply IGNORED all the comments about it but there clearly is a problem with it, the head movement is simply never smooth, even with 90fps locked with 4ms frametime, a 4090, everything on low, it still jitters in corners. Every serious VR player knows that and the whole community told EA about so THEY KNOW IT.
So IF EA takes themselves seriously, then they will fix the issue of course. Their VR implementation of F1 22 was simply the worst of ALL sim racing titles, by far. Even much worse then ACC, with the 4090 I even got ACC running quite well.
Sad that they now use NDA's even with their beta testers.

This is not a new thing. The Codemasters beta tests were closed/private too.

Doesn't make it less sad. We as VR users all want to know if it's finally fixed or not... IF it's on their agenda this time or not at all.
Why so urgent? Since it's a break or make point for VR users. IF it's fixed, then I will buy F1 2023 and together with me many other VR racers, but if it's not fixed, then I won't buy it and together with my many VR racers too. I'm sure about that. It was the biggest disappointment in VR history.
The lack of communication about this subject is really hurting, this issue has been brought up so many times at the F1 2022 forums and they didn't even take the time for 1 minute to give an official statement about it. I really don't get why.
Their whole F1 2023 announcement is nonsense regarding VR now, because they also announced VR for F1 2022, but it was never usable.

Let's imagine that the the information given so far included a comment along the lines of 'improved VR performance'. You still wouldn't actually know if it was now in a state that you'd be happy with, would you? That's all I was saying above.
I would absolutely like better information across the board btw, not just in relation to VR. It's up to EA to choose to market the game however they wish though, and players can react as they see fit. Anyone who doesn't feel they have enough info. or confidence should not pre-order the game but rather wait to see what actually gets released.

No, improved says nothing at all. I only what to know if that specific bug is fixed. IF they state that "head movement is now smooth in VR", then it's solved, if they don't state that then it's not really saying anything. But it can be explained quite easy, because it's simply saying: the bug stuttering while moving your head in VR is fixed. Done. Then it's clear for all of us.

That's what I do. But I'm still excited for the news that the bug is fixed. I really want to get it on their agenda if it isn't already. So I didn't give up my hope. No need to be so pessimistic as @SteveJackson is here. I think that there is a serious chance that they fix it.

I think you need to stop asking the question because it's totally subjective and totally down to your setup as to whether it's 'fixed'.
People post here daily with game crashes and issues that I can't replicate. The game is not broken, yet people cry that it is.
I suspect the VR implementation will be similar. It may well be functional on the test / dev kit. At this point, it's "fixed".
You will need to wait until release and query people with the same VR headset and similar PC spec to yourself as to what their experience of the VR implementation is.
You're carrying butthurt about something you bought into for F1 22. It wasn't up to scratch for you and it looks like it won't be fixed. Why are you even considering purchasing F1 23?

"I think you need to stop asking the question because it's totally subjective and totally down to your setup as to whether it's 'fixed'."
Nope. It's not totally subjective. There is jitter/stutter while moving your head for EVERY VR user. You can simply see it while driving ingame and looking into the corners, it's not smooth as in other VR titles.
It's been tested with multiple HMD's and it still happens with a 4090/i127000K and with everything on low. But with 90fps locked/super low frametimes etc.
It's the biggest issue of the game, since it's a VR breaking bug.
So I'm not sure what you're talking about here. IF the issue is fixed, then I'll gladly buy the game so all VR users need to know of course IF it's on their agenda or not.
"It looks like it won't be fixed"
?? where did you get that information?
"I suspect the VR implementation will be similar"
What's this assumption based on?
"You will need to wait until release and query people with the same VR headset and similar PC spec to yourself as to what their experience of the VR implementation is. "
I don't need to. I want to know it now, if this issue is on their agenda or not.
"People post here daily with game crashes and issues that I can't replicate. The game is not broken, yet people cry that it is."
This has nothing to do with the issue that I mentioned.
