Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I've detailed the ways that I can reliably reproduce it below in the additional details section. As you'll see, these are typical race events. I do not have any issues while just driving around, it's always when "something" happens which seems to be a fairly unique experience based on what I've found on the forums so far.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game crashes to desktop. I've not yet been able to locate a true "Error" anywhere but if there are log files somewhere that I should be looking at - please let me know 🙂
What do you expect to see? No CTD's during these specific events.
I am receiving a Crash to Desktop when specific events occur during a race. So far the events that I've found that potentially cause the issue are:
1) Entering the pits (right as the game takes over control of the car)
2) Leaving the pits (right as the game releases control back to you)
3) During a pitstop, after the tires are changed and the car touches the ground
4) Crossing the finish line to complete a race
5) Pressing Pause
6) Auto-resets
7) Yellow flags
Note that this doesn't happen 100% of the time. For instance sometimes I'll be able to get through a pitstop without issue but then it may crash at the end of the race, or other times it'll crash when I press the pause button.
Interestingly, it never just happens "randomly" while driving. If I'm out on track just doing laps, everything seems fine. It only ever crashes when one of these events happens. However given how often those various events occur, it's incredibly difficult to complete a 25% race or longer especially since the pitstop seems particularly problematic. I can usually get through a 5 lap race without issue however typically after a few 5 lap races, the game will crash crossing the finish line.
I've seen this happen in both single player and multiplayer.
I have searched many threads on this forum for answers and tried tons of them however I haven't yet found the root cause or a solution. Most other folks seem to have a more "random" experience where it simply crashes mid-race at some point. I've tried many of the solutions in those threads to no avail. Suffice it to say I've ran the file integrity check, uninstalled (DDU) and reinstalled drivers, etc. I even have both an Nvidia and an AMD card here and I swapped them out yet still experience the issue. I'm happy to uninstall and reinstall drivers if someone thinks that will help but like I said I've done that many a time at this point, at least for the main video drivers.

In this particular video, I was able to reproduce the error by pressing the Pause button (timestamp 3:46). I tried to cause a yellow flag (didn't work, apologies to Stroll for t-boning him) and then went into the pits. The pitstop completed successfully in this particular instance however that is not always the case. I then left the pits, started driving, and pressed pause which immediately crashed the game. Interestingly I was able to pause successfully earlier in the race which you can see in the video. Pausing is obviously the easiest way that I can reproduce the issue since I can just try to press pause whenever I want. If we need an example of the pitstops I can try to get that to happen while recording as well.
