"Philosophically"...
What is bigger challenge for EA - optimizing F1 23 for PS4 console or porting VR to PSVR2? 🙂
- @Toy4584 Porting to PSVR2 cause codemasters/ea doesn’t optimize, have you seen how the games run

@Toy4584You maybe right… But bug companies like EA will...A bit harsh...
- @Ultrasonic_77 Maybe a bit, but not 100% untreu

@ha6hk3w77mwjNot sure if you understood Ultras tone. Please don’t think he’s in anyway defending EA. He has been one of the community’s biggest and loudest advocates when it comes to getting bugs addressed in the F1 games.
- @ScarDuck14 It’s all good👍🏻
I was just amused by the Freudian slip 🙂.

As far as porting or development.
PSVR2 dev kits went out back in late 2021.
F1 already runs at 120fps on the PS5.
F1 already has VR support on PC.
It wouldn't cost as much as some are thinking to port the feature. I'm not trying to simplify the process, but it is a camera view with a much wider FOV. The pain/annoyance is probably addressing comfort (which they already have experience with on the PC version). The main menu and other aspects of the game wouldn't need to be in VR (like how GT7 does it).
PSVR2 has eye-tracking/Foveated Rendering to help run graphic intensive games in VR.
As far as money and incentive... F1's audience is already going to buy the newest version. Many at launch, some after launch. Adding a VR to the PS5 version could push someone who is not even interested in F1 to buy the game. Hell there are folks who bought GT7, because of VR support, who are not even interested in racing games. I'm sure those GT7 VR owners wouldn't mind buying another VR racing game with an official license and more tracks.
And this is not even mentioning PS5 owners who have stopped buying the series yearly, or at launch yearly.
Imo, F1 in VR for the PS5 would be a feature that would help it stand out... help advertise the F1 game in general to more audiences. Just like what has happened with GT7. All these folks on Youtube streaming their races. Sure there is VR on the PC version. But the PC version needs to be compatible on so many different kinds of PC setups, that not everyone would have similar experiences. On the PS5, it is one system... easy to setup and hop on..and stream if someone wants.
