I really agree with all of your points, even though I reached the Elite division in Season 1, I have now stopped playing Ranked because it takes way too long to find a full lobby as you soon as you reach Gold 2/3. I think many people feel the same, I feel like the playerbase for Ranked has already declined significantly in the last few weeks.
A suggestion I would add is to reintroduce 5 lap races for Ranked, maybe alongside 25% races, so you can choose whether you want to drive a longer or shorter race. The 5 lap race would obviously reward you less points but this way, a DNF might be less costly and you can drive more races to make up for it.
