F1 23 vs. F1 22 for pad

Because of the problem of the bad traction for pad users in F1 23 we start now thinking going back to F1 22.

Before we played F1 21. The grip was good, the handling was fine overall. We had very good races. Now in F1 23 the pad users have massive disadvantage. They have so less grip in rear when accelerating out of slow corners, that my mate is often about a second or more behind me (wheel). No good situation for coop season.

How do you rate F1 22? Are there also any handling problems for pad users? How are the tracks Baku and Miami there? Here we have almost no grip, the breaks don't react as they should. How would you describe F1 22 here??

  • @ShettyRaiThe Problem is the Full Traction Bug on slow corners in F1 23, so for people who play with Full Traction its impossible to play F1 23 on Controller. The issue exist only on dry condition, if it rains all is fine.

You're on PC...I NEVER notice the lag you're talking about in 20,21 and 22 but with 440 wheel Rotations on Xbox I didnt have any problems getting the car to turn like I do now.

F1 turning on consoles needs to have the ability to turn PDT off, not get rid of it imo.

@1cc3bcbc2e4ab8bfRegarding traction bug, I can see why. But reverting back to previous handling model is just physically impossible because the current handling model director is an ex-iRacing employee and they do not know the Greco handling philosophy and is also the worst for quick pad drivers like me because the gamma steering and the filter steering and speed sensitivity is just terrible in quick corners, and fast chicanes.

I bought F1 22 now and tested it a few hours. You all right, F1 2022 as much better handling in slow speed corners if you are addicted to use TC assist. Even TC on medium is way more driveabale then full TC on F1 23 and that makes very big difference in having fun some players. For sure here a lot of players who call others players "bad", just because they use driving assists.

But the game is also made for people who are new to the F1 world (overall, not the mode) or just don't have the time to invest so many hours to become a semi-professional e-sportsman in this game. So there are just normal F1 -Fans out there who play this game once in a week for having some hours of fun.

And here I see me and my buddy. For me F1 23 with a wheel has a nice handling. I can handle that slow speed acceleration low grip. But my buddy it is like driving on ice with the pad. So F1 2022 seems much more enjoyable for players like my buddy. And people like him are for sure an importent core of customers for the Game developers. So I think the slippery handling modell in slow speed corners with TC full is a bad design this year.

But I also noticed what you wrote about high speed corners in F1 22. What you and others is in this thread descriped, I can confirm. The Cars really feel heavy in these corners. But it seems, people who are addicted to TC (medium) can live with this car behaviour much more, than with the slippery rear in F1 23 with TC full.

I really like the new game but its sad, that the developer decided to go another way this year with the handling in slow speed corners while using TC assist. So we are forced to go back to the older game.. hard decision. Believe me.

@DonBlanko Dude you pay your money like every one else. Don’t worry about elitists that like to brag how amazing they are cause they don’t use assists and can lap 110ai inside off 2 laps. They are boring. Play the game the way you get most enjoyment and if that’s using all the assists. Then use.

End off the day it’s a game that lets you play out a childhood dream of being a Racing driver.
