@DivebombDivvyThat’s because despite improving the handling model this year. The career modes haven’t had anything done to balance out and test how the new handling works core features such as car upgrades since 2020-21. It’s all been about shoehorning F1 World into the game. Since 2019 I’ve put minimum off 700 hours every game. This year just shy of 350 and I’ve admitted defeat and deleted it from my console. This year the game is just bad. Unless you like F1 World
@ScarDuck14 Very much agree with you about F1 World - it is sort of a Dungeons and Dragons version of F1 - which "magic spell' do you want to cast on your car from your team (strategist, principal, etc.). Do you want the +25 weight reduction for 60 seconds after a clean lap or the +25 ERS efficiency for 60 seconds after fastest sector 2 or the +22 downforce for 60 seconds after sector 3. For each of these will you be able to manage the lack of consistency in a lap as to how your car performs - and how do they overlap - so for part of the lap you might have +25 ERS efficiency and +22 downforce and +25 weight reduction, but in other parts of the lap some of these will not be there - what happens if this change occurs during a complex turn.
This obviously upsets the balance of the car - which is what I though all the drivers/teams were trying to setup in practice sessions. Apparently the drivers/teams missed out on having wizards casting spells - but not to worry this game makes sure we have them - and all the poor drivers/teams have is telemetry - something this game thinks is unnecessary.
Having been harsh on F1 World - I also agree that one of the things that did significantly improve was the handling model. This potentially setup some exciting things that could have be done in the career modes that would have reflected a positive F1 experience. Hoping they can sort this out. In the meantime I spend most of my driving in time trials where I can enjoy the strength of the game - the handling model.
- @dwin20 I can completely ignore all the graphical bugs and the others such as unrealistic practice program targets. Not getting weekly resource points and sponsors not paying out. Even engineer always giving me wrong information or new strategies that are clearly wrong as Ai all manage to start pitting on correct lap.
even when half dozen or more upgrades fail in a row despite have just a 10% failure chance will just have me rolling my eyes.
In pat years all good because the on track gameplay was good. Ai have up until now provided a challenge. But it always fun and felt fair. If Ai chasing gained 2 seconds over a lap, I knew it was because I made a mistake somewhere (except their super last lap pace.. always annoyed me). Getting an upgrade or 2 for a race always translated well to track and on race day. And when looking at the Ai teams upgrade development i could plan on how I was going to approach upgrades. But now if I focus only on Aero. Or chassis. So does the Ai almost part for part. And no matter how OP my car is or what difficulty I put the Ai on (tried 75-105) i always have a couple off Ai car’s stay with me for an entire 50% race finish with within a few seconds at most off me front and behind.
Unless I suspiciously lose top end speed halfway through random races whilst all Ai cars gain it. And then I start going backwards.
