In the F1 World "Belgium Mastery" series you start the all three races with full wet tyres, even though the all races in the series are set in dry conditions.

During the races the player doesn't get prompted nor recommended to switch onto slicks, and the AI completes the full races without pitting, and only use the full wet tyres.

As this isn't a realistic tyre choice, I can only assume that this is an error or that the event is intended to be set in wet conditions.

Worth mentioning is that it isn't possible to select a slick tyre and you only can choose between intermediates and full wets in the strategy screen of the third event in the series which makes me think that this is indeed intended to be wet conditions.

Another thing, all AI cars have the rain light enabled and flashing, but that might just be due to game logic and based on currently equipped tyres.

An AI car caused a red flag early on in the third event. I had started the race on intermediates (lesser of the two evils), and selected softs in the MFD, and this is the strategy option I was presented with (the soft displayed in the strategy was never used), so it is safe to say that the game is confused about the conditions in these races:

Update:

Just had this issue happen to me again, but this time during stage 1 in the series "Advanced Driving II: Traction Control" (Australia).

After this I tried the second stage of the same series and the issue persisted, all cars starting on full wet tyres even though it was dry conditions.

However, when directly abandoning the race and restarting the game, and reattempting the race, the correct tyre was selected.

One thing that I noticed that the "wet" tyre behaves a lot like one of the hardest compounds possibly even the C0, and seems to react similarly to grip, temperature, and wear.

Speculation: Could the issue be related to the recent addition of the new tyre compound C0?

Even with the latest patch nothing has changed. It's been like this since day one, i don't think they fix it anymore

  • Night races being in the daylight also, one mess of a game.

this does not show up in the "investigating" list here..

its quite annoying to be forced onto wet tyres for dry races unless you restart the game entirely where if you're lucky you might get the correct tyres

(also, this forum software appears as buggy as the game as i cant reply to the topic only directly to people's comments)

how is it possible that his has still not been fixed almost 3mths after it was reported ??

  • I've had this issue plenty of times too. Obviously they won't fix it as 24 is out basically but I've found it wrecks the game, if I have the AI difficultly as high as possible and the tech level at 150 the first one or two AI driver's are still RAPID with the wets where as I'm sliding around and having to sweat to beat them, compared to normally where I'm way ahead of them as the difficulty is way to easy. For example if I select intermediate which should be faster than full wets in the dry they aren't, in fact I think they are slower than not changing them as I think when you change them it puts you on actual inter's where as if you leave it as wets I think it puts you on some inbetween tyre like the C0 compound or similar ultra hard tyre as the temps don't match with full wets. I'm not sure it's very bizarre. Go to grand Prix mode and put AI on 110 or whatever your normally driving at, select full wets for yourself and look at your lap times you will be WAY slower than your times in these glitched games. At Canada I tested it and I was doing 1:15s on the inter's where as on those glitched full wets I was doing high 1:11s, on a push lap I was in the low 1:11s which isn't far off my TT Times I think I have a 1:098 so how can I be only 1.2 seconds off my TT Times on full wets but in a non glitched one I'm in the 1:15s.

  • This happened to me in a stamina race as well. I changed to soft and still AI were running wets. The AI even pitted like 4 times (all stints were wet tyres).
