@SDGMattIn case you haven't looked, note that the AI level in F1 World is initially set at 35. I'm not sure if it increases or not. I'm confident 90 is way above 'average' by the way. Just consider where your times put you on the TT leaderboards (way above 50% I'm sure).
The answer to the question that started this thread is to equip the lowest performances parts etc that you've got but I do think that the simple 'fix' that EA should be considering for more experienced players would be to make the AI level adjustable like it normally is. This would also allow it to be reduced for genuine brand new players.
@Ultrasonic_77It isn't possible to set the AI level in all F1 World series or events and seems to scale depending on delta between the tech level of the player and the recommended tech level for the F1 World series/events.
Equipping lesser performant parts is not to be seen as a viable solution or even mitigation because if you don't have parts that are lower spec, it is not possible to unequip items and thus, the player are unable to lower their tech level, unless the dismantle their only items (if that's even possible in the first place).
This could be fully mitigated by scaling the lowest difficulty of the events with the current tech level of the player.
I.e the player levels up to level 500, and the lowest level that a series can be, becomes level 500 and so on.

I know. Hence my suggestion of a change that could be made to improve the situation would be to make it so that it is adjustable.

Oh, and re. parts what the lowest level anyone will have will depend on the lowest level they keep. I know it's too late for some but I'd advise everyone for now to deliberately keep some low level parts just in case they want to downgrade their car.

I am currently getting close of being tech level 700, and still have events left that are around tech level 200.
I don't remember exactly which series this was, but this race was 13 laps long, and I was able to pit 7 times, and still win it by 35 seconds (I am not even lapping especially fast here either).
The AI would be overtaken by F2 cars with their pace and is absolutely laughable.
If this is the result of a difference of 160, I can't imagine what is going to happen if it would be 500.
Can only hope that there will be some kind of retroactive fix or re-balancing because in its current state it is incredibly broken.
But I guess someone had to learn the hard way. 🙂
