@DinaatioHey, I made the jump from the controller to a wheel a couple years ago.
Played arcade racing games throughout all my life until I got into F1 again back in 2018 or 2019. It was my first simcade game.
Also got some mileage in Gran Turismo Sport and GT7.
Since I got my wheel, most of my time is spent playing ACC and iRacing, but obviously got my fair share with F1 and GT7.
All that to say that, having much of the same interests as you (setups, vehicle dynamics and other technical stuff) F1 is probably the only franchise I find bearable with a controller, with GT7 in second place. Actually, I find it pretty fun – in some regards way more fun to play with a controller than a wheel if you can play it on PS5.
All the same aspects you got to deal with when on a wheel will come around with the controller again. Handling, from the effects of setups to the woes of worn tyres, are there just the same. It's really just the interface that is drastically different.
The reason is twofold, in my opinion. F1 is top notch with a controller, arguably the best franchise out there to play with a pad – reason number one. The other being its FFB is lackluster on a wheel. I have a hard time mustering the will to set up my rig just to play F1 when I've got ACC and iRacing just there, readily available.

Hello @mariohomoh ! Glad to hear that about controller.
I totally agree with what you said about wheel FFB. It seems like the wheel and controller experience are in the opposite sides of the spectrum, compared to what’s out there. Every F1 title I played with a wheel had always some wheel related problem going on that just wouldn’t get fixed, which is why I moved on from every title fairly quick. With a controller that might not be the case, who knows.
Thanks!
