gears and speed

Just wondering how much slower would you be with automatic gears vs manual gears on average per lap? in f1 22 it made a bit of a difference but not huge, how about f1 23? Anyone tried it out or have any idea?

@TigerAlen410 Manual vs automatic transmission is not about how fast or slow the game changes gear for you. It's about having control over your ride.

Timing your downshifts as to induce more rotation with engine braking when you need it.
Timing your upshifts as to cut down on power when you need it on corner exit (short shifting), or to go a bit longer on a gear to keep the engine at the end of the power band as you approach the braking zone instead of upshifting it away from it.

There are a few tenths you're leaving on the table by using automatic gears as well, but that's secondary to having better control over your car.

In F1 22 automatic wasn’t easy to manage because shortshift in turn exit was a must, in F1 23 it’s easier. Nevertheless you have less ‘control’ of what Mario said, you rather have to ‘adapt’ to the shifting.

In my experience I had to use automatic gear in F1 2021 because of an injury, it wasn’t so easy to adapt traction (often in 2nd while I would have chosen 3rd) but I learned to parzialize the throttle and I got used quite enough, except forfew corners around the circus

Auto gears will select 2nd or sometimes 1st in tight corners.  Making for less traction on corner exit.  In manual gears you can stay in 3rd which is lot easier and faster imo:
