Harder tyres being faster than softer tyres for AI in Driver Career

Product: F1 23
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 4 Slim
Summarize your bug The AI are multiple seconds a lap faster on the hard tyres than they are on the mediums or softs. However this doesn't apply to the player, making the AI impossible to even keep up with. This obviously isn't realistic at all and gives the AI a massive unfair advantage over the player.
What is your 16 digit Report Code?
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider?
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Playing F1 Driver Career Mode, for at least the Bahrain Grand Prix
What happens when the bug occurs? The AI are multiple seconds a lap faster on the hard tyres than they are on the mediums or softs. However this doesn't apply to the player, making the AI impossible to even keep up with. This obviously isn't realistic at all and gives the AI a massive unfair advantage over the player.
What do you expect to see? Hard tyres should be slower than mediums, which in turn should be slower than the softs.

  • @guillelmus2ndus This happened in more than one race or just this one? needs more context honestly, my guess is there was traffic when everyone was on mediums.
  • Hi @matty0blobber, I attached an image of Yuki's laptimes (my teammate), they were consistently seconds a lap faster on the harder tyres than even the fresh mediums used at the start of the race. Only done the 1 race so far so hoping it doesn't happen again, but going by all the bugs in my F2 career I'm not hope

@guillelmus2ndusI'd do more races before posting it as a bug man, if theres traffic in a race it'll slow AI cars down regardless of their tyres. Cars at the back might've had more space to open up even when on hards.

Less fuel has a big impact too.

  • @matty0blobber I appreciate you replying but I promise you it wasn't traffic. Every single AI had the same pattern and I ended up dropping multiple seconds a lap in the second stint. I looked at everyone's laptimes after and could see on the mini map who was racing others and who wasn't. AI in clean air the whole race had the same issue. The pic I attached shows lap 16, when Yuki pitted for hards (hence the laptime in the 1min 50s), then after consistently 1-3s faster than his stint on mediums - the same happened for every AI, in traffic or not on both stints. Less fuel has an impact yes, but not *that* big of an impact...

@guillelmus2ndus do you have faults and damage turned on? because you wouldn't be able to know if they had a ers/drs fault for example through replay.

@guillelmus2ndus was just using that as an example, wasn't saying they all had that, just saying you won't know someones got a fault unless its your car.
the games had a terrible launch so it wouldn't suprise me if its another bug.

Consider first half off race:.. cars are just heavier due to fuel load.  Then also consider cars especially from around 5th place to last are all running close together.   Ai are alot slower when they are in close proximity to multiple other cars.   Then softer tyres lose  grip in fewer laps than hards…

As race progresses and especially after they put the cars are more spread out thereby it’s easier for them to go faster.   My fastest lap time in a race is always after I’ve pitted
