How Can You Tell When You Have Bottomed Out?

  • @dwin20 Never gone so low that I’ve felt it on track. But have caught caught straddling a kerb from time to time. I would imagine you would feel steering constantly going light and FFB vibrations rapidly increasing and decreasing. But can’t be surec

    You can't really.

    But generally if you lose some speed after a bump on a straight you are bottoming out (you need to be very high wing, very low and very soft for it to happen) or have  understeer = front bottomed out or oversteer = Rear bottomed out on a bump in a corner.

    I’ve only noticed it on kerbs - too low and either ride on them and loose steering or they spin you depending on the type of kerb
