Huge perfomance issues on night races

Summarize your bug I get a significant performance drop at night events which can't be corrected with any graphics options.

Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start any event at night time.
What happens when the bug occurs? Frame rate goes down to an unreasonable level.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see some drops, but not that much.

I played my first weekend in Qatar, Practice was at sunset where everything was fine. I played with low-medium settings which the game recommended and FPS was stable, surely above 50.
Then Qualifying came and frame rate dropped by a significant amount. I surprised because the game's predecessors I doesn't experienced such a phenomenon. I tried lower graphics setting, but whatever I tried frame rate was below I think 40. Only dynamic resolution with the worst looking settings can achieved something.
So it looks like graphics settings does not have an effect on this, because I doesn't get much FPS with a significant lowering in the graphic settings.
