Las Vegas Good/Bad Track

Las Vegas is a good/bad track

Good on layout and straights are massive so plenty of over taking.and very challenging as the walls are that close so 1 tiny mistake and your in the wall which is always good tracks to race around.

Bad is just in some braking zones there is not braking boards so it's hard to hit the same braking point every time with no racing line and the track grip level is way too low as it's like driving on ice every lap so the track needs more grip added to it so it doesn't feel like driving on ice in qualifying and every lap in the race.

  • Having lived in Las Vegas and traveled the streets that make up the circuit...that's just how the roads are. It's not a purpose built racing circuit but poorly maintained public road coated in the mildew of sin, booze, and unspeakable vice. I can assure you that if it were faithfully laser scanned, it'd be even worse.

As for braking boards--I'd urge you not to rely on the presence of brake markers as I would advise not to become dependent on the racing line. It's the Las Vegas Strip--there are countless things around you that you can use as a brake reference. You don't use the brake markers to take the hairpin at Monaco, do you? Of course not, because there aren't any--you use the jutting curb and Aramco sign to brake and the painted blue rectangle on the road surface to determine turn-in. Absent of brake markers, make your own; it's part of the fun.

IRL pop up street circuits have much lower grip than purpose built tracks.   Asphalt on roads needs to be more durable so it’s harder.  Where Asphalt on tracks doesn’t have heavy traffic constantly driving over it.  So doesn’t need to be as hard and where softer Asphalt provides more grip.  It’s the obvious choice for purpose built tracks

  • Las Vegas isn’t my favorite track or least favorite track but it’s somewhere in the middle for me. I was frustrated with turns 6-9 but once I got the hang of it with practice I kind of enjoy those turns now. It’s also a temporary street circuit so grip is going to be really low. On a side note the Las Vegas track scenery looks like a fictional city track from an arcade racing game.
