Logitech G29 Force Feedback Loss When Starting Second Race/Session

Product: F1 23
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
Summarize your bug Logitech G29 Force Feedback works for one race/session then seems to switches off for the second, so I have to restart the game to get it back.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? N/A
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? N/A
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Running a Logitech G29 (with the latest drivers, firmware and the latest version of G Hub), start the game and go to F1 World > Grand Prix. Choose Bahrain and George Russell's Mercedes. Play the game for a few laps then quit back to the main menu. Repeat the process but this time choose a different track (but the same car/driver). Notice when you start your second race FFB has completely disappeared.
What happens when the bug occurs? Force Feedback switches off completely, making the game more or less unplayable with a wheel.
What do you expect to see? I expect Force Feedback to work for more than one race/session without having to restart the game!

I believe this started after the 1.08 patch, because I did a complete playthrough of Breaking Point before the patch and never encountered the problem.

  • I had this again last night. I was in a Ranked Multiplayer race but Steam went down half way through so the session was terminated early and I was kicked back to the main menu. I thought I'd do a quick practice race while I waited for Steam to come back online, and in my single player race as I got off the start line I noticed FFB had disappeared again. I had to quit back to desktop and restart the game to get it back.

Surely I can't be the only one?

    My system specs are:
    Windows 10

RTX 3060 (with the latest Nvidia drivers)
Logitech G29 (using the latest version of Logitech G HUB 2023.9.473951, and all the wheel's firmware is up to date).

    @geezwHey buddy - they don't care.

Take a look at the community raised issues thread. Notice anything...missing from the list?

After the latest patch, most of the known issues were deleted as though they never existed. That's a pretty clear indication that EA doesn't care about those problems, and that they have no interest in patching. One of those issues used to be "FFB issues on multiple platforms."

Best of luck with your FFB issues. You aren't alone.
