Logitech G923 - Phantom Button Press Issue

Anyone else have a similar Logitech wheel with buttons all of a sudden constantly being selected, bssically glitching in game? 

I'm on Xbox and it appears to be the A, B, X, and "start" button. It happens so much that using the wheel is  not possible any longer.

F1 is the only game I use the wheel for, but I do not think it's an F1 issue, seems like a wheel issue obviously.

But I figure we have a bunch of wheel users in this community, so I'm hoping some folks may be able to help me out on a fix if you've had similar issues. 

My wheel is no longer under warranty.

    @allemands311 Hey, pal! Usually, that's either:
    a) A key binding issue inside the game. The user somehow binds the same function for multiple buttons and have those triggering by mistake during gameplay - as in, I bind the "Look Left" function to the brake pedal as well as braking, so whenever I'm sweating daggers to make T1 I suddenly get the camera panning left
    2) A hardware issue

    You can rule "1" out by playing the game on the default, unedited wheel profile. Or create a new wheel profile based on the default and take it for a few laps.

    To rule out "2", you'll need to either test the wheel on a different game, or plug it on a windows machine and have the native windows Game Controller tool open (search or run "joy.cpl"). Then go to town pressing all sorts of buttons and see if others get triggered unintentionally.

    @mariohomohAppreciate the response! It's definitely not #1 as I haven't changed the binding and it just started happening recently, I've also checked the binding, and finally I can not be touching the wheel at all, and the buttons are just firing off like crazy.

    So it's probably #2, which presents a problem for me as I only have 1 computer in my house, and it's a Mac, so I have no access to Windows. 

    I did remember my kid downloaded Nascar Heat 5 a while back, so I tested that game and the same issue persisted with phantom button pressing so definitely a wheel issue.

    @allemands311 No experience with macOS but there should be a similar tool? Or even Logitech G Hub for Mac?
    Perhaps Steam has a feature that let's you remap buttons and so test it out?

    Well, that's all besides the point now since you've seemed to have narrowed down the source. Sorry about your wheel giving up, pal haha

    Logitech's G29/G920/G923 are quite serviceable though, with plenty of content online for them. If the issue is that bad, try looking up a guide on how to disassemble and clean the wheel.

    A bit left field here but how have you attached the wheel to your rig and what is your FFB strength? Just from personal experience, my wheel was attached to a stand but with the feedback being too strong, every time I went over a bump, it would cause a button press. On a PS5 it would smack me back to the Home screen or into a flashback assigned button. Not sure if it was a clipping issue or just the shock from the bump.

    Try turning the FFB strength down, you never know.

    This has been a known issue with the G923's since the product launched. It is caused by overstress on the internal wiring. Astonishingly, it was also a problem with the G29's too. As your wheel is no longer under warranty, you could always try to find an electronics repair shop local to you, detail the issue, and ask them to take a look.

    Thanks, I'll try turning down the FFB some. The clicks definitely occur more when racing so this could have something to do with it. But it'll still happening sometimes when in menus and not racing.
