Menu Controls cannot be changed

Product: F1 23
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
Summarize your bug The Preset Control Scheme for my new Moza R9 Wheelbase and ES Steering Wheel are super weird. The usual stuff I can change but the menu controls for some reason i can not. Not even if I create a custom control scheme. The button that is usually UNIVERSALLY the accept butten here is the cancel button and vice-versa. I cannot change it. If that is on purpose i sure do not understand it, because WHY wouldn't I be able to change MY settings and if i should be able to, this is a bug that needs URGENT fixing. This is a massive QOL issue in my opinion.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? XJJH-TTGK-YJGG-XHSE
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Vodafone
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? go to settings with a controller or other input device that has a preset control scheme and try to change the MENU CONTROLS
What happens when the bug occurs? i cannot change my A button to be my accept button and my B button to be the cancel one
What do you expect to see? just the custom button being chosen as i press it

issue should be clear, i want to be able to change my menu controls in a way that they make sense

  • Not only does it not allow you to make changes, but for an ES wheel it has mapped controls to buttons that do not exist (9-12) and does not allow changes, so you cannot use these functions.

    I found a trick on internet,

    quit game

    edit \F1 23\actionmaps\moza_r9.xml file

    replace similary lines with these

    <Action actionName="Menu Accept">
                    <Axis axisName="di_button_0" type="uniDirectionalPositive" deadZone="0.0" saturation="1.0" />
                </Action>
                <Action actionName="Menu Back">
                    <Axis axisName="di_button_1" type="uniDirectionalPositive" deadZone="0.0" saturation="1.0" />
                </Action>

    I simply switch button_0 and button_1

    Save the file and relaunch the game.

    Caution : make a backup of this file, EA love make update where all our settings are gone... :-(

  • I found another way, i play with moza on f123

    you have to enter inside the f123/actionmaps and then remove all the moza.xml file, then reopen the game and when you go inside settings and you try to remap the button this shouls work without errors
