Hello!
I had the same feeling.
This is how I adjusted it keeping HDR ON in my TV.
You can make a nice adjust at your TV settings for HDR that helps with brightness as long as you can't adjust gamma in game with HDR on.
If you have a Samsung TV (others may have the same settings):
- Be sure to be on Game Mode
- HDR On
Then
- Go to Settings -> Picture -> Expert Settings
Then find the options ST.2084 (Under Gamma) and find the better adjust for your screen adjusting the ST.2084 bar AND Shadow Detail.
For reference my settings are:
ST.2084 : 3
Shadow Detail : 1
It REALLY improved my game experience and doing this adjustments made me keep HDR ON.

@psyko1432 Do you think it's only the menus or possibly everything that is too dark with HDR on? I think it's the latter personally, and don't think it's a TV setting issue as this is something specific to this game vs literally all other games I play (including F1 22 and EA PGA Tour).

It´s definitely a Game Problem. Every other Game i played so far looks normal.
Also, the Problem is not in "every" Menu it seems. Im playing a single player career and in the Team-Hub everything looks normal. When you start a weekend,
thats where the menu and everything is a mess.

@Ultrasonic_77 On track is fine. But when in pits the menus are not only dark but colour seems off. Medium tyres look more orange than yellow

@ScarDuck14 Yeah, exactly! I was like, ok, medium tires orange?? Okaaay….

Not to mention the rest of the graphical glitches or the bugs overall.

I'll test a bit more but for me I think it's universally darker than it should be but much more noticeable in menus which are darker to begin with. I think it's just less obvious on-track. There may be two different things going on here though.

Here's an example showing the exciting new orange medium tyres, but I also think absolutely all of it looks too dark/wrong as well - it's not that the cockpit view is what I'd consider normal for example. And when I start the race this looks exactly the same.

Thinking about it I've not seen a peak nit setting in game, which may be relevant.
